Excellis invests in Italian researchers who are emerging as successful entrepreneurs abroad: Italian founders, co-founders or key-people who have obtained a master’s or a PhD in prestigious universities, and who have developed a career path as researchers and entrepreneurs abroad.
Our target startups are founded around technologies that originate from research developed in the most highly rated laboratories and research centers in the world, supported by solid patent protection and a strong potential for impact in the world of today and tomorrow.
We invest in startups that have already raised pre-seed funding and research grants, being now ready to raise capital from qualified international VCs as main investors.
Excellis invests in high-potential deep-tech companies covering four main sectors that will change our future:
– Enabling Technologies: Edge AI, advanced computing, chips, quantum computing, laser technologies, sensors, photonics, etc.;
– Robotics Automation: drones, industrial robots, air taxis, service robots, autonomous vehicles, exoskeletons, agricultural robots, logistics robots, etc.;
– Cleantech: hydrogen technologies, energy storage, batteries and capacitors, carbon capture, graphene, polymers from renewable sources, circular economy solutions, etc.;
